So much has been said already by others, that I don't wish to chime in on things I already agree. You can see entries by Instapundit, Powerline, Captain's Quarters, Macsmind, The Unalienable Right, and Porkopolis to see all the news and opinions on the comment that I agree.
My concern lies in the shear ranting of the left. Yes, us conservatives rant as well. So, we're both alike on that fact. How we rant versus a liberal is a different subject, but we all rant against the "other" side.
The difference among the sides are that, when confronted with a problem to rant against, the conserverative side adds something else: answers. The answers eventually form into solutions.
When has a liberal come up with a solution? The biggest solutions I normally see are spending, more legislation (usually then unenforced), and limitations on speech (can you say Political Correctness? Or McCain-Feingold?).
Bennett's comments are based on facts. What solutions do we have for the problem? More spending? The War On Poverty spending is one cause behind the problem.
How about supporting two parent families. Ones with fathers present, without the government taking his place. Or enabling communities (villiages to Hillary fans) to internally help each other in need. Organnizing themselves bottom-up, not top-down from the government.
These are answers, heading towards working solutions. Let's not stop on the ranting stage.
