The Harkin Amendment was debated on the floor this past Monday and Tuesday. Senator Tom Harkin, out of Iowa, has been a proponent thru the years to change the Armed Services Radio to more of a liberal bend than they are now. All under the guise of "balance".
His latest push to balance ASR is to remove what little of Rush Limbaugh is broadcast over their airwaves. One whole hour of his show is broadcast to our service men and women. Harkin would try to remove this due to his disagreement with Rush's opinions.
A radio listener of Rush's has a great idea. Starting Monday, November 14th, an Adopt-A-Soldier program is being setup to pay for active duty military to receive Rush's 24/7 website. This includes online listening capabilities. Also included is his newsletter.
It's always been interesting how the left can cause some great ideas to bubble up on the right.

He's not giving access away free to servicemen and women, then? Seems that would be a great way to show support for the troops. Someone should suggest that to him - it wouldn't cost much, and I'm sure he could afford it. Then they could use the money to buy something else for the troops instead.
Just a thought...

Just what we need, an army of liberals. And they think that Iraq is a quagmire now. You'd have to get a written form filled out in triplicate from the base commander to return fire in a firefight.
Not that they'd have any guns or anything. I mean, like, ewww!
