Two Associated Press articles came out today listing the median income levels for states. One of these places Kentucky (as a whole) 9th from the bottom with a median income of $36,663. The other lists the 20 highest and lowest counties. None of our 120 counties made the 20 highest, and 4 made it on the 20 lowest counties.
Many years ago, I remember seeing a similar study done of median incomes by zip code. On that list, Kentucky showed up with 1 zip code in the top 5 (Harrods Creek, KY), and 1 zip code in the bottom 5. No other state had that disparity.
