According to the Courier-Journal today, Anne Northup will be getting some competition in elections next year. Andrew Horne, 44, a Louisville lawyer and Marine Corp reservist, has announced his decision to run next year.
He may have some competition in the Democratic primary next May. Dan Borsch and David Hale may also run.
Daily Kos is rather excited about his decision. They mention one statistic I'd like to see some proof of:
Republicans claim they support the troops, yet those very same troops have returned home, and, given the choice, overwhelmingly chosen the Democratic Party.
So let's see, Northup's opponent is a veteran. Murtha is a veteran. John Kerry is a veteran. But where's the proof that veterans of Iraq are chosing the Democratic Party? Particularly chosing a party that says we're losing, when the troops know from personal experience that we're winning.
