Carol Platt Liebau had a post on Sunday, 1/29, referring to Debra Burlingame's article in the Wall Street Journal. She pulled out the following quote which I thought was very good:
The mantra of civil-liberties hard-liners is to "question authority"--even when it is coming to our rescue--then blame that same authority when, hamstrung by civil liberties laws, it fails to save us.
I thought of another way to phrase it:
The mantra of the Democrats is to "question Republicans" -- even when they are coming to our rescue -- then blame the Republicans when, hamstrung by the Democrats' activities, they fail to save us.
