I saw this article on Friday about Bill Clinton calling for cartoonists conviction, but couldn't believe my eyes. Somehow, someway, I thought (mistakenly) that there was some error to the account.
I am now more glad we have a president in office who wishes to spread freedom, not curtail it. I realize that the first amendment (speech, press and religious freedom) specifically is an American thing. But those are two of our most precious foundational freedoms. Without these, not much else matters. Without these in some form in other freedom loving countries is just as much of a loss.
I then realized Clinton is known for his fluid-speaking...saying whatever the crowd he's talking to wants to hear. Remember his "I also think I raised your taxes too much" comment of a few years back? Wanna guess he didn't mean the tax comment? However, his successor in office is consistant, saying the same opinion or fact everywhere he goes.
