Today, Mitch McConnell (R-KY) introduced legislation that mirrored a previous bill amendment of John Kerry's. This bill requests a withdrawal of all U.S. forces from Iraq by the end of 2006.
Guess what? It failed, 93-6. Here's the 6: Russ Feingold of Wisconsin, Barbara Boxer of California, Robert Byrd of West Virginia, Tom Harkin of Iowa, and John F. Kerry and Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts.
Kerry accused Republicans of playing tricks and wants to bring it up again later for more floor debate. Just how much floor debate would it take to get another 45 votes on their side?
Sounds real reminiscent of John Murtha's Cut and Run House bill of earlier. In Murtha's case, he even voted against his own leave Iraq bill.
