Or at least the first half anyway.
Sure, you thought I was talking about politics. This evening, Michael Bush proved he could be a powerhouse for any team he played for, with 3 touchdowns in the first half to help propel UofL to a 59-28 win over UK. However, early in the 3rd quarter, he broke his right leg and will be out for the rest of the season.
It definitely muddies the waters for those prognosticating the rest of the Big East season. A missing Bush is a strong factor to consider now that he's out of the lineup. Or, he can become a rallying point for the team for the rest of the season. Consider the loss of Scooter McCray back in the 1980 Louisville Cardinal Basketball lineup. In spite of that loss, they continued on to win the national championship. Can this happen in this instance? It's early enough to change the playbook and train with the talent they have left.
Good luck fellas!
