America's promise is in danger and we are in dire straits according to Obama's speech. But wait...
If Barack Obama is elected president, it sounds like the Congress and Senate can step aside. Barack has a plan and he will do ... (fill in the blank.) Barack is going to solve the energy problems, education problems, economic issues, and bring the troops home. Sounds like there won't be any issues for Congress and the Senate to have a say in. But, how do you insure every American including those with pre-existing conditions, which he said insurers would be forced to insure, and not add taxes? Barack says by taking out loopholes on businesses and he will not raise taxes on 95% of America. As a matter of fact, he wants to lower taxes on the majority of Americans. Boy, if you are part of the 5% or a business, be prepared to pay! There is no way you can do all the things he talked about this evening without some serious, serious money. When it comes to taxing corporations and businesses, no matter what anyone says, they don't pay taxes. You, the consumer, will pay the taxes. So that is really a tax increase on average Americans.
I didn't hear anything in this speech that is any different from other liberal politicians. For a candidate of change, it sure sounded like the same stuff I have heard for years.
After saying in the beginning of the speech that the American promise was in danger, he said that his mother worked and even had to depend on food stamps but was able to send all her children to the best colleges in the land. Wow! For a country that has done such a lousy job, that sounds like there are some great opportunities in America.
