"Well, I don't know Governor Palin, I have not met her before. I had a brief conversation with her after she was selected to congratulate her and wish her luck - but, not too much luck! - on the campaign trial. And she seems to have a compelling life story. Obviously, she's a fine mother and a up-and-coming public servant," - Senator Barack Obama, in a 60 minutes interview to be aired August 31st.
There can be lots of comparisons between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama:
1) Both are in political minorities (female versus African-American).
2) Both have similar lengths of political service (hers 12 years, his 10 years).
3) Because of this length of political service, both can be defined as being an up-and-coming public servant.
The difference between the two is one is running for the 2nd position on the ticket, the other is running for the top position on the ticket. More reasons to vote for the ticket that DOES NOT have the up-and-coming public servant at the top of it.
