Thomas Jefferson and Debt

I am in the midst of reading Chuck Norris' book Black Belt Patriotism.  I thought this quote of Thomas Jefferson was very relevant:

But if the debt should once more be swelled to a formidable size, its entire discharge will be despaired of, and we shall be committed to the English career of debt, corruption and rottenness, closing with revolution.

Debt, corruption, and rottenness.  Sure sounds like today's Democratic Party to me.
