Quote of the Day

A cause that has highlighted the bigotry and close mindedness of the left.  Consider the quotes, coming not from the supposed narrow minded right, but from the "open minded" left:

"She lost not because she doesn't believe in gay marriage. She lost because she's a dumb [expletive]," - Perez Hilton

(where's the NOW gang now, who should be defending women with the guts to speak their mind).

And.....

Despite public support, Miss Prejean said, officials at the Miss California pageant have all but abandoned her after she refused to apologize to advocates of same-sex marriage.

(again, what happened to freedom of speech?  Only free to say it, IF it is agreeable with the pageant organizers?)

Carrie has now become the star of the latest Miss USA contest, outshining even the winner (quick, without looking it up, who was she?  Besides being Miss North Carolina).  So reminds me of a quote from another persecuted One.

"But many who are first will be last, and the last first.” - Jesus Christ, Mark 10:31 (NIV)

So far, Carrie has become first in many people's eyes.  And Kristen Dalton (Miss North Carolina, in case you didn't look it up) will be overshadowed by the one lady in the contest who showed us all how a true liberated lady can speak her mind.

Obama Performance Poll

MSNBC is running a poll on Obama's performance in his 1st 100 days.  Based on the over 290,000 votes placed so far, on a A, B, C, D, F scale, Obama is averaging about a GPA of 1.8.  Can you say C-minus?

I thought a messiah would be getting better grades than that.

Take Back Your Party

So advises Nancy Pelosi to the republicans and the GOP.  Interesting advice, but I don't think she's too up on current events.

With the recent presidential loss by a "moderate" republican, and the recent loss of a "moderate" Pennsylvania republican to the side of the democrats, I'd say the "taking back" is already going on.

End of "Chuck"?

One of the shows I watch regularly is the NBC show Chuck.  It's beginning to look like next week's Season Finale might be a show finale.  Bummer!

Louisville Cable and Faith Channel

Anyone notice the change on Louisville's basic cable?  Probably not.

Like me, you probably don't watch channel 19...the Faith Channel...very much.  But occasionally, I have watched it for a few things.

They've now moved it to a premium level channel. Come on, Insight!  Premium?  For a Faith Channel?

These guys at Insight Cable know that the Faith Channel have no other way to "broadcast" in that they aren't an over-the-air station.  Maybe they're thinking a few will move to the premium channels just for the Faith Channel.  Doubtful, tho, considering many folks of faith, like myself, don't watch the channel often anyway.

I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist, but i do wonder if they have other thoughts behind this move.  Like dropping anything that smacks of religious stuff.

Makes me wonder.

You Go, Girls!

I don't usually pay much attention to women's basketball, however, with the University of Louisville women's team in the NCAA Final Four I decided to watch.  The first half was ugly.  The Cards started out missing their first dozen or so shots from the field and Oklahoma roared out to a 16-4 lead.  Amazingly, the Cards were only behind by that margin at the half, but I thought they were pretty much sunk and didn't plan to watch the second half.

A little bit later I turned on the TV just to see how far behind we were.  Lo and behold, we were ahead by 4!  There followed a very exciting game with several ties, a couple of lead changes, and a last second three-point attempt by Oklahoma to try to win the game.  It bounced off the rim and the Cards won their first-ever Final Four game 61-59!  Now they move on to the Championship game against either Connecticut or Stanford.
