Since Monday's obscene joke by David Letterman, I've laid back a little, having hope that maybe the guy could be man enough to apologize. I now see my patience has not been rewarded.
Both of Dave's two jokes from Monday night's show bother me, but I seriously take offense at one of them. As the father of a daughter and grandfather to four girls, I highly resent the implications of "knocking up" someone's daughter. Adding serious insult to injury, his joke more than suggests statutory rape of the daughter that was at the Yankees game, 14 year old Willow.
Promoting any kind of assault on women doesn't belong over our American airwaves. If you agree like I do, I'd suggest letting the FCC know through their online complaint form.

A very interesting point is made by a lifelong liberal, who happens to like the Palins. Read Sebastian's details on the valid point that those of us on the conservative side don't go the distance needed to fight our battles. I think the case behind Letterman is one we need to "go the distance" on.
