Talk to the current generation about LP's, 45's, and 8-tracks, and expect a deer-in-the-headlight look back. Soon, CD's may get the same stare.
Record labels are looking at selling music on memory cards.
Cool!

Zap Brannigan over at Ft. Hard Knox writes a post on the band 3 Doors Down. In viewing their music video below, it's nice to see a band that gets it. Thank you, 3 Doors Down. And thank you, National Guard.

...I want the money anyway.
OK, that's how I'd paraphrase Heather Mills McCartney anyway. Seems she thinks the rich are snobs and/or stingy. At the same time, she's attempting to get $100 million in her divorce from Paul McCartney.
She does ask the question "If you have lots of money, you have to be stingy — because why would you want that amount of money?"
Maybe she should answer her own question.

Since I am more of a left brained "techie" person, I am one who tends to view those with artsy talents with amazement and awe. I therefore found the following youtube clips very fascinating to watch.

The worship leader at my church, Chris Carder, is among a whole slew of artists that can be found out at the indieheaven website. This site has been designed to publicize the music of the independent Christian musician.
Since Chris was off to New England this weekend, we had the privilege to have these fellas from Mile7 leading our worship this morning.

Both Michelle Malkin and Expose the Left have comment about the following section of this article:
"A lot of pandering started going on, and you'd see soldiers and the American flag in every video. It became a sickening display of ultra-patriotism."
"The entire country may disagree with me, but I don't understand the necessity for patriotism," Maines resumes, through gritted teeth. "Why do you have to be a patriot? About what? This land is our land? Why? You can like where you live and like your life, but as for loving the whole country… I don't see why people care about patriotism."
I don't know about ya'all, but my interpretation of their comment is this: "I like where I live, but the rest of the country can buzz off!" This kinda thinking never made much sense in my circles. The following picture may include a fellow Kentuckian, but it took brave men of a whole country to raise the flag portrayed.
Some will never understand.

I've been known to like songs from just about any musical genre known. Of the more popular genres, I don't have a lot of favorites when it comes to Country music.
That said, there's some Country music songs you couldn't peel me away from. Songs like Tim McGraw's "Live Like You Were Dying", Toby Keith's "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue", Darryl Worley's "Have You Forgotten?
", and Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the U.S.A.
".
But one group I've never really been fond of are the Dixie Chicks. Even before their political gaffes of 2003. In light of their political statements, I wonder how far their next album will go. Taking The Long Way is an album that Amazon is promoting big time on their main entry page. Personally, I don't think it'll go very far. But heh, I've been wrong before.
